How did your yoga journey begin?

“I think I have always had a connection and a link to yoga even though at the time I didn’t know that is what is was called.”

Returning from an overseas trip, Louise took her yoga journey more seriously and enrolled to study and teach.
She received her Diploma Health Science-Yoga from NatureCare College, graduating in 2003.

What is your favourite type of yoga and why?

I love YOGA – It’s the practice of being centred and calm and having time to myself and being on my mat is so healthy and healing bringing me back to me and in balance for my journey in this lifetime! I do practice ashtanga though and love the flow I get from the practice.  However, like any practice some days I have more energy so I go with the flow and do what I do on each day being responsive and in the moment!

What is one piece of advice for In Motion yogi's?

Stay with it, after 20+ years of practice and teaching, we all have our ebbs and flows of energy. But if you can stay with yoga it makes the life journey so much more understandable, breathable and connected! Maybe not easier but alive, helping us to stay on our paths and in our hearts and knowing we are ‘be’ings!

Tell us a little something about yourself.

I love tennis  – I play comp every so often with my team – I lose nearly all the times that I play as it’s mixed and the guys whack the ball back at you when you get close – but they’re there for the fun of it!! Yeah right!!! They don’t like to be beaten by a woman and one that’s older than them too!! Haha!! But I still love it.  I had one guy say to me  – ‘I’ve never met someone so happy even though you’ve lost!’

Catching up with family and friends and having a good time and good old belly laugh! Laughter is one of the best medicines around!  I went to a beautician years ago and she commented on the lines on my face – I told her they’re my laughter lines!

Blessings peeps xoxoxox
