WHAT IS IT TO BE PRESENT IN THE MOMENT?

We all crave connection and union, and that is mostly to ourselves.  For me to be happy is to know me and be connected to me!  Light is the importance to undertake any activity that brings you lightness and connectedness to the present moment. For me that is YOGA as I can get out of my head and experience me without mind chatter that is not solving anything, but instead learning to experience the world through me in action.

… and again, it’s all a practice, as we learn who we are, we grow and let go of the old and move to the new with a new moment, not an old thought!

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

Take a moment for awareness! What surrounds you in the present moment  – the mindfulness of your surroundings with your sense perceptions – notice it with attention – your room, a window, a visual to focus on – enter the present moment by becoming more aware of the sensory perceptions of your environment  -sound, sight, smell, feeling, is there a taste in your mouth?

This then perhaps creates less mental noise, lessening the dialogue of commenting  -the mental noise that talks to you and interprets the moment – identifying, likes and dislikes etc.  Let go of that chatter as that is not me and not you.  Taking away the attention to that and get on the mat – move and breathe and be in the present moment and notice the mind chatter is gone!  It’s a practice.

That’s when I know I’ve got my YOGA practice to connect to! To step onto the mat and then see what unfolds as I connect inward more mindfully and see where the journey on the mat takes me!

Then I’m experiencing me – as I’m experiencing me in this moment, not a thought, not an impression, as we manifest this world through our belief of who and what we are.  Let go of questions about your life – past and future – stay in the moment and become aware of yourself!

Who am I? Not by the clothes I wear, not by my family, community and where I live, not by what I do, but in this moment who am I?  Becoming aware of I am as a conscious presence – the “I Am-ness” of ourselves! A certain openness and spaciousness opens  – you may already be aware of this  – it’s just the way you are!

Yoga brings this awareness! Alert and awake yet still and present in the moment with awareness.  You are the moment, beyond the senses!! Aware of yourself beyond the sensory awareness! Oh keep coming onto the mat and play with this understanding of presence and consciousness, as it moves beyond the senses.

This in itself allows us to be Free – to shine our light, and when we’re free we shine our light this then gives others permission to also simply “be”.  Surrender to the moment, shine and be!

(Inspired by Eckhart Tolle’s teaching on Conscious Manifestation)

MANTRA

So Ham – I AM: That Which I Am
This mantra practice is also amazing in that it gives us a focus point connect-shone in the moment! So if you have a busy mind, full of activity then mantra  – repetition of words helps us to come to the present without a dialogue of comment, but rather a comment to just accept and “BE” in this moment!

Mantra:
Inhale: I am
Exhale: That,
I am
OR
Inhale: I am,
Exhale: That, which is
…whichever words resonate with you? Repeat the words as your mantra during the meditation process.  Continue with the mantra then also bring your attention to the tip of the nostrils and feel the breath as it enters and leaves the nostril.
This builds our connect-shone and understanding that we all breathe from the one universal source of energy and it returns to the atmosphere, to the union in which we are all connected!
Stay with this connect-shone of receiving and then returning, of being unified with the one source, and breathe deeper into the expanse of understanding that we are all living from the same source.
Let go and be.

FOCUS ON THE NOW!

Connect | Shone: So whatever the connection is for you, see it as 30 Days to connect and shine from within.  Take the Present moment to see there are changes you can make to feel and live a life more full of well-being.  The practice of yoga as we all know centres around our breaths and helps us to maintain this connect-shone of being in the now.

So step onto your mat once more and join me for 30 days of YOGA.

CONNECT-SHONE: YOGA is a full body, mind and soul Connection

Not only are there the benefits of a full body focus, it brings our connection in to ourselves.  It brings the mind, body and breath to be as one! It is a science, it is a practice to unravel our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional knots.  It’s a process of growth and learning, it’s a light-bulb that shows us our path and lights it for us.

“Yoga takes you into the present moment. The only place where life exists.” – Patanjali

We all know that we feel better once we’ve taken the time to come onto the mat and practice.  It’s relaxed us, energised us, calmed us, stimulated, and most importantly balanced us.

We learn about who we are – our imbalances, our weaknesses, our strengths, it shows up and surprises us, and we learn where we can do some things that we didn’t think we could, and we react/respond to it and it shows us where we need a little more practice/trust/energy.
We perceive ourselves differently, and we grow and learn and we also cut ourselves some slack and then we also give permission to let ourselves be and then accept others to be too!

So yes there are all the benefits of yoga, but deeply it’s a FULL CONNECT-SHONE!

LIVE, BREATHE, BE!

Stay in the present moment and be present in the moment as much as you can this week as we flow and hold and breathe and be! Focus on our whole being as we are!

Connection to be in the moment with awareness to shine and “BE”.

“Yoga is a light which, once lit, will never dim.  The better your practice, the brighter the flame.”

B.K.S. IYENGAR

“Hey Lou, I got home late on Wednesday, I had forgotten about yoga, until I arrived home too late.  So last night I did my meditation. Very nice Thank You.  Sorry I missed the live but the delayed gratification worked.”
