# IWD -Break the Bias | Choices we make and take

Let us take some time this week to honour and respect who we are as women and for the men in the community to also take time to honour the women in their lives. Let us reflect on the bias that as PEOPLE we may have suffered or in fact inflicted – and have some time for ourselves to honour who we are/want to be and honour that part of us!

We as people are not always glamorous and smart or get up and get out there. At times we are tired and worn down and feeling neglected or biased against or feel unloved. We must honour all that we are and whether it’s in the moon-resting cycle, winter and hibernation times, or the spring and energetic times, we are forever changing and we should take time to honour all of who we are – there is a learning in all that we are. Not only in the good times, but also in the not so good times! Maybe we need the not so good times to get us up and into the change and growth again of the next cycle, the next lesson, the new and better way to think, believe and to take action in a positive way! To live a more fulfilled and responsive life.
How do we Change?

“You must be the change yo wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi

What are our own thoughts, beliefs and actions?

Turn the focus inward: Change from within; our thoughts, beliefs and actions.

Find a practice that brings you Mindfulness and Connection. If we have a practice that brings us to the present moment, then more and more the old ways – thoughts, beliefs and actions change, they drop away as we continue to live in the present moment.

Connect into ourselves – YOGA – it is the union of ourselves, to ourselves and then with each other. We learn and understand who we are, and then we are able to connect with each other from a place of love, kindness, compassion and understanding.

Mind – Bring it to the breaths, stay with the breaths – not allowing the mind to wander and then when it does we gently bring it back to the breaths again – practice, practice, practice brings awareness.

Breath – We cannot breathe into the past or future, the breath keeps us in the present moment.

Body – Move it in time with the breaths – and feel the connection – like in an ocean of water – you need to be ready for the wave – so move with the breath – the breath does not wait for you – it has it’s own inherent knowledge of when the body wants oxygen and when to release the carbon-dioxide. So be ready to move with your breaths.

We CHANGE as we learn from a newborn to now – our experiences change us! We are not the same person in thoughts and actions from a new-born to our present age – the body changes form, our thoughts and beliefs change as we grow and learn new ways – but the spirit does NOT!

The spirit is of love and kindness and connection and if we can move away from our conditioned thought forms and into our breaths – our breaths connect us to the present moment. Don’t think, just breathe. If we can connect to ourselves with more loving kindness then we can be more accepting and supportive of those differences around us.

Give ourselves space to open up and become more receptive and open to change. Our beliefs are only thoughts we continue to have!

Bring ourselves into the present moment -through surrendering, letting go of rigidity, to change our thoughts and be more kind.

Let go of rigid thought, let the body move and breathe, stay present in the moment by staying connected to ourselves.

Our connection to the ever-changing moment in time can help us to connect to the for-ever changing world we live in. We become more receptive and understanding of others as we in fact connect to ourselves with loving kindness and support, we honour ourselves.

Accept that we change and are able to break our own biases and thoughts and move into a progressive world with more compassion, kindness and understanding. Live in this world for all to live in, with acceptance, connection and simply love.

Find what brings you into yourself – for me it has been Yoga, it is the Union and Connection to myself to live and breathe in the moment and let go of the old.

May all beings be free of pain and suffering

May all beings be filled with love, peace and kindness

May all beings, Be!

CHOICE…

Remember to choose the class that is most suitable for you. If you have tight shoulders and upper body, then the Surfer’s class is a good one to do.
If you have a sore lower back and tight hamstrings and are on your legs, standing, running, walking a lot – then the runner’s Sat class is great for you.
If you’re always overtired and stressed – then do a slower paced class and let yourself have some time to rest into the poses with more time to breathe into the poses.
If you’ve got the energy then stay with flow classes.

There is CHOICE on the timetable to look at what is best for you on any given day/week. There are also the On demand classes – that are all recordings of our classes that you can do at anytime.

Thanks to all of you for our lovely community.

Blessings and Namaste Lou xo
