Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice and Happy New Year | Anahata Chakra
Merry Christmas
I’d like to start by Wishing each and every one of you a heart felt and full Merry Christmas. However it is you celebrate; with family, friends, your pets, alone, travelling, enjoying a quiet time or a full on time, we all celebrate differently and we all celebrate in so many ways from where we are at this point in our lives.
To the little ones waking to see what santa has brought and the looks of excitement in their eyes when they see the gifts under the tree and try and work out where their presents are and what’s for them. :-)) I used to love Christmas and still do – a special time to relax and enjoy each other’s company and sit around the table and after the traditions – sit and chat and muck around with the family. Play some games and see where everyone is up to! Backyard cricket is always a favourite!
Happy Solstice
“Connect with the sun that keeps you bright and alive. Accept the fire that burns away all that you have outgrown, all that no loner serves you. Release it by using your new power, and welcome the future into your new present because today is a turning point for you and for all. Say yes to the light, Your Light. Happy Summer Solstice”
– healthroughwords.com
Longest day is: Wednesday December 22
We’ll see approximately 14hrs and 24mins of sunlight -this means the summer solstice has approximately 4hrs and 31mins of extra daylight than the winter solstice.
It was celebrated for the return of the light, life, fertility, creativity, abundance, potential for a good harvest. Go out in the sun and enjoy the warmth of the sun on your skin and feel the warmth nurture and nourish your spirit and soul. New life, new beginnings and bountiful baskets of energy and vitality.
Happy New Year
“May the spirit of the season of the New Year fill your heart with serenity and peace. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. “

Can we even believe that it’s already at the end of the year!!! A year of shifts and changes once more and now a time to look forward and move on and forward and look to the future with acceptance and change and evolve into the new with enthusiasm as we’ve all well and truly learned that there is always a new! If nothing more then the last few years has deifinitely taught us this. New shifts and changes are always occurring and how do we respond and flow with them. Be fun, be dynamic and go with the flow of your life…
Anahata: 4th CHAKRA
Located in the middle of the chest – the energy centre of the heart.
Anahata = Unstruck, unbroken, unbeaten, whole
“There is an infinite supply of love. My heart is open to giving and receiving love. I lovingly accept myself as I am. I give and receive love with an open heart. I open my heart fully to living. I am worthy of love. I am loving to myself and others. I live in balance with others.” – yogateachercentral.com
This energy centre is about love – spirit, loving kindness, compassion, kindred spirit, connection to all man-kind, humankind, fellow beings, acceptance, openness, tolerance, giving and receiving, healing, relationships, balance, unity.
We move and breathe to open, release and balance the heart energy. A focus on arms and middle to upper body will be activated.
“The love of the spiritual heart is not the passion-filled, physical love that the Western tradition often seems to confuse with true love. The love of the heart chakra is a kind of awareness. It does not express itself in the pursuit of one’s own interest or the satisfaction of instinctual drives but rather serves as the foundation of selflessness and compassion.” – Kalashatra Govinda, A Handbook of Chakra Healing
Yam (pronounced more as “Yum”) -the beeja mantra is Yam – through the practice silently repeat the mantra Yam to yourself as a tool to stabilise the mind and body.

Thank you…
Firstly, I’d like to say a very heartfelt and very full thank you to you all, for all your support over the years and especially this year too. From all the changes and movements, I really do appreciate those of you who have stuck with me and I am truly thankful and grateful.
I don’t know what the New Year holds with any definitive answers but I really am going to enjoy the break with some time off between Christmas and the New Year. There are NO Live Classes scheduled during this time, however there are plenty of pre-recorded classes “On demand” or on “YouTube” that you can download and do at any time of the day or night that suits you.
We’ve got classes scheduled until Thu – can you all please PRE-BOOK into the classes this week as I know it’s close to Xmas so if you’re not around then I can make plans around gaps in the schedule. Please see the timetable on the www for the dates of classes – when they resume and I look forward to seeing you all at some time this week or in the New Year.
Blessings to you all for a beautiful and happy time this festive season.
BIG BIG BIG BIG Namaste Lou xo

It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matters, but who is around it.

Hi Lou, I’m looking forward to returning to your classes this week. Since dropping off the past few weeks my old sporting injuries have come back and I feel quite stiff all over. I’m sure that this is proof that yoga keeps us all limber. See you on the mat.
