Out-Fluence | Influence

Our inner learnings and beliefs are what make us outwardly the people we are today. The inner workings of our minds and beliefs show in our actions, words and our deeds. Every thought we have becomes a belief and become the words we speak and the actions we take.

When we step onto our mats, it’s time to let all the thoughts surrender and turn in to this moment in time. Bias can be so strong and unknown to us – I ask you each to take this moment.

Close your eyes and in your mind’s eye can you picture: a lawyer, a yoga teacher, a doctor and a criminal. What were the images that came to mind for you? Is it based upon the environment, our stories that are fed to us through stories and lifetimes of how and what we see, hear and understand?
Breathe into the Change you wish to see

“You don’t have to be a “person of influence” to be influential. In fact, the most influential people in my life are probably not even aware of the things they’re taught me.” – Scott Adams

We all have people in our lives that have offered wise words and a hand of support. Do we look to people that inspire us and do we take steps to mimic those that inspire us? But is our life the same as theirs?

As much as we listen and accept these words and actions, ultimately we turn in. Do we trust our own thoughts and then take the action that drives us forward. Do we look and start to see the reality of this moment either without the rose coloured tint or the haze of grey?

If we turn inward to come more and more onto the mat and into ourselves we learn to listen the inner voice of knowing and trusting and looking within to find our answers. The answers are within, and we find them to take the actions and steps in life that maybe some cannot understand as they’re not in our shoes and don’t see the life as we individually do. But the more we step into ourselves, the more we can see the mindfulness practices that help us to look, see and feel without bias and to not turn thoughts into words and actions that may not be in our better and best way.

Be in the moment…

BREATHE…We cannot breathe into the future or the past.

The connection of yoga is to bring us to the present moment, let go of the old and help us to stay present in this moment. What is the reality and truth of the moment?

The breaths, the body, the mind connected to witness the moment. Let go of thoughts about the future and the past. If you’re thinking and worrying about the future you’re never truly living in the present moment and believing the future will be better/worse than this moment. Yes make plans for our safeguard and future but live in this moment, with breath and connection.

Step onto the mat, and see where the journey takes you in this moment?

Thanks to all of you for our lovely community.

Hi Lou, At the moment, I am good with the zoom sessions as I feel I have more flexibility and I don’t have to travel to locations.
