Trust to let go

From all the learnings of yoga, could we trust in our inner knowledge and let go and surrender to the inherent knowledge within each of us?

Can we make space to surrender to this moment? To the flow of the breaths, the flow of the class, the flow of life and surrender to the moment without controlling it?

Control is an illusion.  We can plan and make for a better life but there is no real control. It’s a progression toward an ideal.  If the brain is to quieten, we must surrender from the chatter and truly listen within. And feel the difference in letting go to the moment.

In classes, let my voice and instructions be a guide in the background. Listen and respond, but listen more within to the spaciousness within, and the energy as you move.  You know that feeling when you’re in a pose and you’d like to stay there? The ‘oh this feels so good’? Well, listen to that and surrender to it. Stay in it whilst you can and join in again when you’re ready. If I look up at the screen and see you’re all in Savasana, then I’ll know you’ve had enough!  🙂

In life we’re taught to achieve and push through the barriers. But take this time to trust in your inner knowledge and wisdom to let go. It’s not giving up. Rather, it’s listening inward to trust. When the mind let’s go and we trust to surrender, there’s a graciousness that occurs and change happens.

Think of it this way too. Ever been somewhere or with someone and they’re taking you on a journey and it gets to a point where you say to yourself, ‘I’m not going any further, that’s too far’. Well it’s the same here, listening to the inner voice, not the external.

Maybe we’re letting go of our expectations, our habitual thoughts, our expectation of “it/life/circumstances” to be a certain way. Maybe it’s the resistance or the need to know, and we can let go and breathe and just be in this moment. Not capitulating to the next. Not worrying about where the next step is. Or the next pose. But knowing it’s coming, to be happy to surrender and let go to the now!

We put our energetic brakes on when it gets too much. When a pose comes along and we think we can’t do it, either we trust in our inner wisdom, or we take the time to explore the possibilities of ourselves in the pose.  We know when we’ve gone too far. We know when to rest.  Can we surrender to these inner cues and surrender to them?

Let there be an unfolding, a discovery, a freshness and a lightness in the moment. To surrender and let go to it!  Letting things be, to open to the spaciousness of what might be here for us. The new possibility. Release from the need to know and trust it is happening.

Take this week to lose yourself in yourself. To know yourself as you let go and trust in the wisdom of the moment.  Play with it and see where it takes you.

Trust and let go,
