Kali Mudra
Kali Mudra
Cut away negativity with this Mudra, a sword to cut away negativity and illusions.
This mudra is said to release tensions, remove negative energy from an attitude, argument, relationship, or in any form of fatigue or disease.
Use this mudra to also cut away illusions. The fingers pointing down are said to represent Durga’s (Slayer of Evil) sword and is used to break through or cut away the veils of illusion to reveal your true self.
How to:
Come to your meditation seat;
- Clasp hands with all fingers intertwined
- Extend the index fingers so they join together
- Keep the other fingers interlaced
- Only the tips of the index fingers touch, with space between the rest.
- Thumbs are crossed tightly.
- Some sources teach the fingers pointing toward the ground; some point straight out from the shoulders, and some raise the arms overhead.
